Osteria La Buca is an old-country Italian restaurant in West Hollywood led by Chef Cameron Slaugh. The team at La Buca commissioned farm land in West Los Angeles, where they are now growing and harvesting the vast majority of the produce that is used on the restaurant’s menus. Yes, that means- fresh and organic produce! We’ll get back to that…
Lately, it’s been hard to get out of the office for lunch. Friday’s are usually reserved for an OOO lunch but I almost missed this week with so many pending projects. When I say, I would have been mad at myself if I missed this – I mean it! Today I’m lunching with Mina T. Mina just got engaged! Lots of wedding updates, venue pictures and videos shared. Super exciting!
Let’s talk about the menu. There are so many good choices!
Starters are usually the hardest to select. Often, I’m starving and I want everything! Mina suggested that we share the Crispy Octopus – Green Papaya, Chilis, Basil ($17). It was so good, I asked the waitress why isn’t it served as a main course.
Mina ordered the Short Rib Ravioli – Pecorino, Black Pepper, Vincotto ($20). Yes, it’s as good as it looks! The ravioli melts in your mouth, a beautiful medley of flavors I had a bite ((smiles)).
I ordered the Grilled White Sea Bass ($19). A beautiful follow up to the Crispy Octopus. I mentioned earlier that the restaurant grows a lot of it’s own produce. The salad was delicious and the ingredients were freshly prepared. The sea bass was grilled to perfection.
We sat next to a table where a group of three were sharing a number of dishes family style. That’s definitely the move! The next time I dine, I’ve already decided what additional dishes to try. The Nero Spaghetti, (If you love seafood – you’ll want to try this) and the House Made Sausage Pizza.
Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
