Like many families, folk stories have been passed down from one generation to the next. In our family, the verbal history of our ancestry has been primarily that we have Native American roots among other ethnic backgrounds in our blood-line. My mother believes that we have a very large percentage of Native American roots in our DNA.
My mother is 84 years old and was born and raised in the Deep South, there’s another history lesson there we’ll have to ask Momma to give us on camera later.
